Valet

Being a valet team member is a lovely way to start your day. You get to greet kids and support our school. And guess what? This volunteer job is a very small time commitment! The "rush" shift happens right at the end, 8 - 8:15 am. It's done before you know it, and you're still home in time for work.

We are looking for 5-7 new recruits for the 2026-2027 school year! You can be available once a week, twice a week, early shifts, late shifts - whatever works!

Email valet@marengopta.org to get more info or let us know you're interested. We will work you into some shifts toward the end of the school year, but then you'll hit the ground running in 2026-2027 school year.

Walking Bus

The Walking Bus needs volunteers once a month on a Friday morning to hand out giveaways/prizes and cheer on our kids. To volunteer, email activetransportation@marengopta.org.

Stock the staff lounge: Snack

Twice a month

Our lovely teachers and staff here at Marengo deserve to nosh on fun treats! Please sponsor our staff lounge for the month, providing delicious snacks for our staff. You can drop off as much as you like, although twice a month is recommended. 

Popular snacks for general use: chomp sticks, granola bars, chips, pretzels, yogurts

We welcome creativity! Sure, granola bars and yogurts are great for day-to-day, but what about a muffin basket on a Friday morning? Crafting a farmers market produce basket for the fridge? A surprise pizza party on a random Tuesday afternoon? You can go as big or small as your heart desires.

This is a DONATION ONLY, you will not be reimbursed. We appreciate your generosity!

Stock the staff lounge: Beverages

Twice a month

Volunteers will need to go twice during the month that they sign up for, and will need to provide a receipt to the PTA for reimbursement. The budget is currently $100/month. Other tasks include wiping down counters, drying and putting away dishes, and taking care of any dishes in the sink. 
 
Please visit between 8:15 am and 9:15 am, or after school.
 
Once people have signed up, I will put you in touch with the volunteer who was in there the month prior, so you have a better sense of what's needed when it's your turn. I have been taking care of things this month for everyone!

Marengo Garden Volunteer

Classroom Volunteers

If you want to volunteer in your child’s classroom, please contact your Room Parent. If you do not know who it is, please contact your child’s teacher.

In order to be a volunteer on campus, you must complete the Volunteer Agreement (PDF). Please print and scan/email or hand to your teacher.

Volunteering on Campus

  1. Please sign in/out on the Volunteer List in the front office each time you are on campus.
  2. You  must wear a visitor sticker at all times while on campus.
