General Wish Night
Are donations tax deductible?

Yes! 100% tax deductible.

  • Marengo is a 501 (c) (3). #95-6208107.
  • If your family is in a position to give more, please consider donating on behalf of another family. Any and all donation amounts are appreciated.
  • Don’t forget to add a PTA annual membership for $8/family member to your cart before checking out! 
What is the suggested contribution?
  • The suggested amount to contribute for Wish Night is $250/student or choose an amount in increments of $25. 
  • Wishnight is voluntary and more about participation, so give what you are comfortable giving. However, the money raised directly impacts and benefits vour student's classroom.
  • Any and all donation amounts are appreciated.
  • If you would like to donate to Wish Night by a check, please make them payable to "Marengo Wish Fund"
Where does the money go?

These funds allow teachers to purchase supplies for their students.

  • Your child’s teacher has prepared a list of specific items and experiences to enhance the educational experience for your child this year.
  • Everything from pencils and erasers, to books, educational applications and subscriptions and so much more!
  • Field trips! School bus rental can cost up to $1200 on each field trip. Entry and/or tickets are an additional expense.
  • Up to 4% of this year’s class donation will support our amazing enrichment staff (Art, Music, Theater, Speech, OT, RSP, Psychologist & Counselor) to help them continue their impactful work with our kids.

Can I submit a matching gift from my company?

When do you receive notification about my matching funds?

3rd Party Grant Administrators handle the processing of payment between your company and Marengo PTA.  Each Grant Administrator handles processing differently.

  • Some inform us that a donation has been made and that the company is processing it (at which point we note it toward the class). 
  • Others do not send any notification of any kind until it has fully been processed and our bank account credited, which can be several months. 
  • However, if we know about it, we can count it toward your class ahead of time, so please reach out to wishnight@marengopta.org if you have sent in matching funds via your company.
When do you receive the funds from the Grant Administrator?

As stated above, each one is different and payment can come to Marengo PTA anywhere from 30 days to 6 months later.
What should I send you once I have asked my company to match?

Send us the following information:

  1. What is the Grant Administrator your company uses (examples are Benevity, CyberGrants, YourCause, etc)?
  2. What is the name of the person giving the donation and the company they work for?
  3. What is the donation amount and class it should go towards?
  4. Sometimes when the donation match processing starts, they send you a GiftID or ProcessID. If you have that, add it to the communication to us.
